KinKeeper Life ID exists so that a stranger can reach your family when you cannot. That only works if you trust us with a few facts about yourself, so this page says plainly what we hold, who can see it and how you remove it.
What we collect
- Account: your name, email address, optional phone number and a hashed password.
- Life ID: the card holder's name, optional photo, optional date of birth, blood group, present and permanent address, and one to five emergency contacts with their phone numbers.
- Medical details, only if you add them: allergies, medical conditions, notes and uploaded reports. We ask for your explicit consent before storing these.
- Scans: each time a QR is scanned we record the time, the IP address and the browser of the person scanning, and their location if they choose to share it.
Who can see what
- Anyone who scans your QR sees the name, blood group and emergency contacts on that Life ID.
- They see your photo, allergies, medical condition names, medical notes or address only if you have switched each one on.
- Your date of birth and uploaded reports are never shown on the scan page.
- Our administrators can see account details, card names and scan logs in order to handle abuse. The admin panel does not display medical details, contacts or addresses.
How we protect it
- The address in your QR is 32 random characters and cannot be guessed from your name or number.
- Allergies, conditions and medical notes are encrypted in our database. Photos and uploaded reports are kept in private storage.
- Scan pages are excluded from search engines and are rate limited to slow down automated copying.
- You can switch a Life ID off, or replace its QR, at any time. The old QR stops working immediately.
Emergency contacts
You give us other people's names and phone numbers. Please tell them you have listed them. Their numbers are shown to whoever scans your QR, because that is the purpose of the card.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. Deleting a Life ID removes its details, contacts, medical records, uploaded files and scan history. Deleting your account from the Account page removes everything.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may access, correct and erase your personal data and withdraw consent. You can do all of this yourself from your dashboard, or write to us at hello@example.com.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data, show advertising, or share your details with anyone other than the people who scan your QR.
